Overview

Riverview is a shareholder and the development manager of the Poplars Innovation Hub and Retail & Services Precinct at Jerrabomberra, which will form the new gateway to the existing residential area south‑west of Queanbeyan. It has been nominated by both local and state governments as an area for economic development and jobs growth, and will ultimately comprise approximately 10 hectares of retail area and 30 hectares of business park, employing around 10,000 people.

Subdivision work for Stage 1 of the retail centre is now complete, with lots in place to accommodate a service station, restaurant/fast food premises, medical centre and supermarket.

The business park south of Tompsitt Drive is being developed as a campus‑style Innovation precinct and defence cluster. It will also include a new high school and ‘Innovation Hub’ developed by Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council (QPRC).

This project commenced in the early 2000s when Riverview joined with land owners, the Larcombe family, and property developers Goodwin and Kenyon. In 2013, the Queanbeyan Local Environmental Plan approved changing the Poplars land zoning from Rural to Retail and Business Park.

The precinct is due for completion in 2027. Riverview has acted as Development Manager for this project from 2003‑2017. The project is now under the supervision of Development Manager Chris Daley of Black Mountain Project Management.
